SESH Hairdressing Re-launch Event

Recently I had the pleasure of going along the amazing relaunch event for SESH Hairdressing.

SESH teamed up with the Malmaison Hotel in Leith to offer us a few lovely cocktails and canapes - which I very much enjoyed -  before we headed over to the salon to find out what it's all about!

It was a wonderful night full of fizz, meeting some great people and learning the ins and outs of the reboot of SESH.

SESH Hairdressing are a salon in Leith, Edinburgh and have been going strong for 15 years. Created by Salon Owner, Simon Hill, SESH has been refitted to create a contemporary and relaxing ambience.

Staying Motivated With Depression

Depression is something I've personally suffered with for a good few years now, not to mention the anxiety and everything else with it.

At it's best - it's something you can work with, just kind of lingering in the background and allowing you to get on with life.

At it's worst - it's life consuming, toxic, and makes everything ten million times harder.

How To Get Clear Skin

Having clear skin is honestly goals, but honestly seems harder to achieve than becoming a millionaire.

There's an endless amount different skin care tips out there on different routines and products to stick to, as well as how to lead the perfect  lifestyle to get clear, glowing skin.

If you're anything like me, these things can go right over your head, or they're just not feasible - whether that's to do with time, money, or something else.

To make things a bit easier for you (and myself),  I've compiled a lil list of simple ideas and tips that help to get your skin looking beaut without taking up half of your life and blowing your entire month's budget in a week - for most of them, you can just use the products you already have!

2018 Self Care Goals & Tips

Hey lovelies - it's been quite a while since I posted. I've been feeling pretty uninspired and demotivated the past while, but I'm finally back with some fresh inspo and ideas.

First off, Happy New Year! I hope u had a good one and ur feeling nice n refreshed after the festive period.

Coming into 2018, one of my top resolutions is self-care and self-love.
Especially at this time, it's really easy to be hard on yourself. You feel like you should be hitting the gym 24/7 and making your life and mindset instantly better.

I'm v. guilty of this myself. The whole 'new year, new me' thing is grating, but it still niggles in the back of my mind.
Ofc it's okay to want to improve, but it's rly important to remember that it's not just going to happen straight away.

Coping with S.A.D

Living in the UK, it’s not particularly sunny all year round - especially in Scotland. Honestly, we’re lucky if we get even a sixth of the year with more than subpar weather. Still - it’s getting to that time of year when the days are shorter.

It feels like you come out of work/school/uni and it’s already getting dark out, even though it was dark when you left that morning too.

When they weather’s bad, it feels even worse. It’s like you don’t get even a moment where it’s light out because of the clouds guarding the sun like huge grey shield.

Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly known as SAD is depression associated with late Autumn and Winter, where basically your body doesn’t respond well to the changing seasons. This can leave you feeling pretty crap all Winter due to the long stretches of darkness during the day with not much sunlight to help balance things out.

Although it’s difficult pretty much no matter how hard you try to deflect it, it’s really important to make sure you’re doing what you can to keep your life going and not sitting in a slump for almost half of the year. There’s enough to be stressed about without SAD on top of it all.

So, here are a few things I already do or I’m going to implement this Autumn and Winter to keep my spirits up as much as possible and deal with my SAD:

Super Easy Skincare Routine On A Budget

We’ve all heard a million times how important it is to look after your skin. And of course sometimes you can’t help but roll your eyes at the myriad of products that add up to hundreds of pounds you’re expected to buy to keep the breakouts at bay and stop your skin from getting too oily or dry.

Whilst I’d love to be able to grab every skincare product I could possibly think of, like most of us, I just can’t afford it. Sigh.
So, I’m here to help you look after you skin on a smaller budget, and keep ya beautiful face looking it’s best.

Brands To Check Out This Season

This summer is the first time I’ve ever worked for a fashion company, and honestly, I have to say that I am for real LOVING it. I’ve met so many people with great style and learned about new clothing brands that the only bad thing to say about is that I didn’t discover them sooner!

These brands are full of super cute, unique pieces - perfect for grabbing a few staple items that are actually affordable. What more could you ask for?

So, before I waffle on, here are my new fashion discoveries!

side-note: I'm going to put all of my outfit details from pics at the bottom of each post, along with links so you can shop my wardrobe!  😘

I’ve only just gotten my first delivery from Monki, and it’s safe to say that I am essentially in love. Monki are a Swedish company whose style motto is combining the minimalistic Scandinavian fashion with expressive street style.
All of their clothes are super unique and cute as heck. Every visit to the website honestly just makes me want to buy everything.

I have to admit that to start with, I was really nervous about the sizing of their clothes. Turns out, the sizing is perfect - even a bit oversized!
